Biotech company Aperiomics has signed a lease for 4,700 square feet at 45925 Horseshoe Drive in Sterling, Va., according to a press release from the Loudoun County Economic Development Committee.
The firm signed a five-year lease with building owner FSP Dulles Virginia and plans to move this month, according to a Loudoun County Economic Development Committee spokeswoman. The asking rent at the property was $19.50 per square foot.
According to the release, Aperiomics is known as “the only company able to identify every bacterium, virus, fungus, and parasite known to modern science” through its Deep Shotgun Metagenomic Sequencing process. Loudoun County is also has a “growing reputation as a major technology hub [and] access to major data centers that allow us to maximize our Artificial Intelligence and genomic research and quick access to major healthcare hubs across the East Coast,” Icenhour continued.
New York City-based Sentinel Data Centers paid $82.5 million for the 280-acre Washington Dulles Gateway site in Loudoun County, Va., Commercial Observer previously reported. Aerospace and defense company Rockwell Collins also expanded its simulation and training facility in the county.
“It is vital to us to support cutting edge companies like Aperiomics as the county diversifies its economy and grows the ecosystem for biotech companies,” Loudoun Economic Development Committee’s Executive Director Buddy Rizer, said in the release. “Loudoun is well-positioned at the nexus of health and data and Aperiomics is leading this charge.”
Dan Gonzalez of Avison Young represented Aperiomics while Correll Caufield of Lincoln Property Group represented the landlord, the committee spokeswoman told Commercial Observer. The brokers did not return CO’s request for comment.
